I had no idea his son was in Black Rebel Motorcycle Club until now.

The soundtrack was awesome. I wore out my cassette, need to get the CD or download.

Yeah, apparently he co-produced some BRMC early stuff, too? Like I said, cool guy. Cool dad. The good kind of xtian ;)

what a shitty thing for the universe to do.

robert schimmel killed in a car crash after all the battles he's fought with illness.
you'd be surprised how much a nutsack can stretch. you have to stretch it yourself, not a woman. they don't do it quite right.

Oof. That is misfortune to the nth degree. :(

Also passed today, the political cartoonist Paul Conrad. You have seen his stuff. He was on Nixon's "enemies list," which makes him a saint as far as I am concerned. I liked his toons.

This.

It sucks that his daughter was driving too. They sounded really close after everything they'd been through.

It really does suck. He was one hell of a funny guy. :thumbsdn:

  Holy crap.  And that's just . . . damn, that's unlucky.

I don't think I've heard anything of theirs from his tenure.  I wouldn't mind, but I think Face The Music is the first ELO album I've heard.

We always used to call that album "Deface the Music" and were quite miffed when the Rutles Utopia released an album by that name.

Unpopular as usual, I always thought the best track / strongest earworm off that one was Waterfall.

I don't think I've heard anything of theirs from his tenure.

I used to own ELO II (their second album) on vinyl. That was the first album he played on. It's actually the only ELO I've ever owned and I have no idea what ever happened to that album  :hmm: I really liked it back then, so it's nostalgic for me, but I don't know if you'd care for it. It fit in with the times - ELP, Pink Floyd, etc. Progressive, long songs - there were only 5 songs on the entire album.
It's symbolic of our struggle against reality.
