I was going to watch the video, but I couldn't figure out which of the 15 domains trying to run scripts on that page needed to be allowed to watch the video.
I didn't realize the iPad didn't have Flash. That seems kind of stupid.
I know those two statements don't go well together, but there it is.
I'm beginning to wonder how long it's going to take for HTML5 movies to catch on. Or if ever.

I have this problem all the time. It does, however, make the Web a lot smaller, which I think is good.

I read that the reason the iPod and iPad don't support Flash was because of mouse tracking. The interface works differently on those, and most Flash stuff depends on knowing where the mouse is at all times, not just when it's clicked.
Yeah, I'm with you guys. If there are 12 different domains that want access so I can watch 15 seconds of advertising, I'm going to move on.

A lot of people seem upset that you can't tether the iPad to your iPhone, which I gather means you can't use your iPhone to provide an internet connection for your iPad if you're somewhere without WiFi.
I have no idea of the technical issues, but that does seem like a mistake for Apple -- and a weird strategic deviation for Jobs.
I still think these tablets are all really poorly designed, as devices, but that doesn't mean they're poorly designed as products. On the other hand, I also think this is a market segment where every eighteen months will make the last newest model painfully obsolete -- moreso than with most computer gunk -- and so even if I wanted one, the price would have to drop a bunch first. Like under $100.

Typical Apple rollout. They see what attracts the loudest squeals from the initial adopters, then add it to the 2.0 (and lower the price).
You'd think the initial adopters would, I don't know, learn something from this, but apparently not.

The early adopters are the first to buy the next gen too. And then they sell the previous release on ebay/craig'slist or just give it away. That's how my son got his iPhone.

True. I've had people offer me their old iPods. And I now have two castoff digital cameras, although I've more or less donated them to the shop.
I guess this is trickle-down economics in action, eh?
