Well. I have to say. Rewind a bit.
NYE Breakfast was home made pho'' with rare beef. Need I say it was Pho'' King Awesome. And I did smoked baby back ribs on the grill super low (4 hours plus). Worked great. I have a rib stand thing so I can prop them up away from the burner, and I rigged a chip tray that I put over the burner (apple mostly with a few hickory chips).
Dessert was little individual molten lava chocolate cakes the kids made by adapting a recipe from Nigella Lawson's baking cookbook. Holy shit. They were awesome. Everything we've done from her cookbooks has been awesome (and I can't say that about the other famous chefs' books we have). I've been having astonishingly impure thoughts about Nigella ever since. I mean, I think I sprained my tongue.
