Pan-fried pierogies last night (with sour cream, but alas, no applesauce!). Dessert for me: Grape slurpee and chocolate/toasted coconut donut from Tim Hortons.

Nachos with black beans tonight, I think.

I'm all about the comfort food lately, can you tell?

tacos, but meatless crumbles substituted instead of ground beef.  add a can of authentic mexican salsa and some taco sauce, yum.

For our annual NYE backwards dinner we went to Aldo's over on Winchester in Campbell/Los Gatos (somewhere near the border).  I started off with the hazelnut mousse.  Excellent!  For the entree I had the pollo ortelano which was fabulous.  Sauteed chicken breast with artichoke hearts a little spinach and tomatoes in a white wine sauce.  I followed that with a caesar salad, and for the appetizer we had prosciutto and mozzarella with arugula.

ooh! NYE dinner was great - we went to Eldorado Grill for some Tex-Mex-type food. I had smoked chicken enchiladas stuffed with chicken, Monterey Jack and cream cheeses, jalepenos and spices and topped with lots of sour cream and black beans. Josh got a FANTASTIC steak that'd been marinated with all kinds of spices and garlic mashed potatoes with a Dijon mustard and bleu cheese butter.

Yesterday's nighttime snack: two pieces of key lime pie from out of the freezer.
Today's dinner is two pizzas: black olive-pineapple-hot pepper and broccoli-feta-red pepper.

Maybe I'll do pizza tonight.  I'm already feeling bleh.  There's always tomorrow to be virtuous.

I'm doing shepherd's pie tonight... assuming of course that they're herding turkeys.

The word cassarole scares me.
