The song I didn't want to name is When The Children Cry.  Jeez, White Lion only had two hits . . . .

I'm terribly smitten with the Horrorpops of late. This is their comment on hair metal. Things, especially terminology, are definitely different in Denmark.

My favorite HP video -- Miss Take. I'm completely and utterly in love with the dancers, so much so that for me, this probably belongs in NSFW.

All day, stuck in my head, Gilbert O'Sullivan's Alone Again.  I would love to trade it for something less depressing, but my efforts have failed so far.


Also, I saw an interview with Tom Jones, and I realized that apparently I've never seen him interviewed before.  He has a total Welsh accent.  I didn't even know he was Welsh.  I remember him on The Simpsons and didn't notice he was Welsh.

Weird.  NTTAWWT.

That I Got A Feeling (that tonight's gonna be a good night) song . . . I only just learned it was by the Black Eyed Peas.  So now I can name a song by them -- there's that -- but do they really want to be the Black Eyed Peas or did they mean Black-Eyed Peas and not know how to spell it?  I never know these things.

Anyway.  They play that song all the time on many radio stations here, but I've never heard them say who it was by, and I didn't care.  I do often let it play, for two reasons:  (1)  I like the 'hoo-hoooo' part that follows the title line, and (2) after they say "Mazel tov!" there's a tiny high-pitched vocoded "L'chaim!" in the background that always cracks me up because of its ridiculousness.

For some reason I don't fully understand, I had to share that.  Now I'm going to go listen to The Stroke to get that song out of my head.

Funny you mention that song. I have heard this before, no doubt many times. However it has not stuck in my head at all. I can't summon it up. I assume there's some sort of hook, but it's not working on me. I can recall how Alanis Morissette's cover of this song goes (not at all like the original, I think), but otherwise this song has not stuck in my mind. If you played the karaoke version for me I might not recognize it at all.

That's not usual. Even for stuff I dislike.
