There's actually a song about those Mark Lewis used to sing after hours.
“I'm generalizing from one example here, but everyone generalizes from one example. At least, I do.”

So much for tapering off at daybreak.  Pouring rain, wind, tornado sirens . . . how can there still be so much pollen in the air?

Particles of pollen per cubic meter of air

Last Wednesday: 17

Last Thursday: 59

Last Friday: 112

Today: 1,633

The pollen fairies do not take weekends off.

And today, the count is 5,733 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air.

Almost a record, but not quite. Maybe tomorrow.

Tonight would be a good night for a laser show.

I'm a little perturbed that the one day this week I have baseball tickets is the day the anticiapted high temp might get to 60.  Of course it's in the 80s while I sit in my cube all day.

See the dark lines on the asphalt that are shaped sort of like lightning, or look like cracks in the asphalt? Those are ant trails through the pollen. I see this every year, but this is the first time I've taken a picture of it. This is the parking lot at work. There's this massive ant colony under the building, and every year around this time, they start migrating. The dark area (the trails) are not ants, but the actual color of the asphalt. The lighter area surrounding it is the layer of pollen on the asphalt. In other words, these are ant foot prints. It blows my mind that their tiny little feet leave these trails.
It's symbolic of our struggle against reality.

I like the fork in that trail.  Who was the renegade ant that said, "I think I'll go this way instead?"

i wonder if ants sneeze. that's a cool pic.
you'd be surprised how much a nutsack can stretch. you have to stretch it yourself, not a woman. they don't do it quite right.

I know.  The other day, I was cursing about my allergies and how it's all damned tree bukkake, and one of my acquaintances (I refuse to say who) said that that always makes HER eyes swell up, too.

Well, I guess I started it.

edit:  Incidentally, when I left the house this morning, there were snowflakes in the air.  Yet STILL the allergies.  Ridiculous.

  I just want to not wear my wool coat someday.
Cause you're so beautiful
Like a tree
Or a high-class prostitute
You're so beautiful
Mmm, you could be a part-time model
But you'd probably have to keep your normal job
