[Genetic alteration instead of.... giving the poor animals better living conditions.

Right.  If you regret eating an animals on account of its feelings and emotions you should opt out of the carnivore game, not alter their genes to make you feel that it's right.

Nelson agrees to minor league contract with Yankees, then retires

I went to high school with that traitorous bastard.  Christ, but I'm old.  And yet, still almost 30 years from retirement-qualified.  :stbm

All I can see in my mind's eye is the long-haired blonde ponces behind "More Than Words" strapping on a set of uniforms and calling for a KEY CHANGE!!!! from the dug-out.

There are hair band songs I actually call out "KEY CHANGE!" to when I hear them.

So are you still angry that the Colts got moved to Indianapolis? And did you cheer for the Colts or the Ravens?

Those ponces were Extreme, actually. Brunettes. My brain prevents me from remebering any Nelson songs...

I wasn't really a Colts fan as a kid - my dad grew up in Baltimore; my mom grew up outside of DC; she got custody of me after the divorce; the Redskins were at my grandmother's house every Sunday just like my cousins.  I didn't understand the politics of the Colts leaving so it wasn't really a big deal.

What annoyed me was the people who were thrilled when we took a team from another town - it seemed hypocritical to me after the way the Colts left.  (I was also annoyed that the same people who hated Irsay for taking the Colts were the same people who hated John Elway for not wanting to play for Irsay, but that's neither here nor there.)  And I like Peyton Manning - he's a good Loosiana boy and makes funny commercials.  So I was rooting for the Colts.

And yet, your brain let you remember Extreme.
No one should be forced to remember Extreme!
Shame on you, law-brain!

Sad, but true. I (unfortunately) knew Nuno before he was famous.
