I want to go. It's going to take a lot of string pulling to manage it. I'd love it if both of us could go - I have to talk to the Other Half. I would need place to crash arrangements and such.

Crashing can certainly happen at my place because DON'T EVEN THINK YOU PEOPLE are going to be that close to be without being seen.  The damn celebration is only an hour.  And there's Saturday night and all...

Oh, and Smoka sent me an email about it, so she might be convinced to attend.

I think I'm going to head down on the train. That might change depending on what shakes out with my car situation, but either way, you're more than welcome to crash here, Irish.

Yeah, I was a little confused about how long it was. The website said something like 9 - 5 I think, but watching the shows I got the impression it was gonna be a few hours or so. I figured I'd just head down and wing it. It's close enough to home that I can just head back whenever. Also, my life can always use more :tal: :knotty:

If I can help anyone else out, let me know.

Also, we're gonna need some sweet sign suggestions, people!

As of right now I'm trying to get a rental van from here I think and splitting a hotel room with a bunch of people. I'm going to do whatever is cheapest. How much does a ticket on a train cost? Also there are groups assembling. There are people renting buses from Philly for $5 - $30 per person.

Also, we're gonna need some sweet sign suggestions, people!

I've been reading here on and off all day:
http://www.metafilter.com/95792/Keep-Fear-Alive

My fave so far is GLENN BECK WILL PROTECT ME FROM MORMONS

I don't need to sleep in DC. I can't book hotel rooms for sure anyway because even if I said absolutely we're on for it we still might have last-minute oh-noes-we-can't happen. (That's why I'd need a crash offer.) If we do it we'll be driving down so we can bring the hugeass "party van" (8 seater minivan) to drive to DC from wherever but I'm fine for taking a train as well. We'll probably have to swoop in and swoop out (get there very late Friday and leave very early on Sunday). I too was trying to figure out when exactly we should be planning to get there - 8 am, noon, 2 pm? How long will it be? etc. Not much info out there yet.

Since I'm not sure what time I'd be able to meet you guys in DC, I say party at my house on the way back north Saturday night/Sunday morning...

Maybe I'll even clean some of the things!

Crash space-wise, there's the double sofa-bed and a queen in my room, with minimal floor for assorted sleeping bags/air mattresses.  But if economy is the thing, we can make it work.

Assuming scheduling and such works out, you're welcome to as much of my floor (or my hotel room's floor if the case may be) as you want, Hajen.

ETA - offer is not limited to Hajen either. Heh, didn't mean to imply that. Offer good while floorspace lasts. ;)
