For technology that never reached the market, or at least not here.

Hells, yes -- the Nissan Nails concept.  Better than the Juke, god knows.

man, work has locked our firewall down. tried to look at this earlier, but the website was blocked because it originated from lithuania.

now, i can see the horror.
you'd be surprised how much a nutsack can stretch. you have to stretch it yourself, not a woman. they don't do it quite right.

I gotta say, though; the expandable seat is a pretty interesting touch- it's a single-seater most of the time, which frees up cargo space, but when you need to drive someone around, you just stretch it out and you've got a bench. Can't possibly be comfortable, but it definitely makes it easier to get coins out of the seat; just slide it out and everything falls through.

Honda Civic Tourer:

Basically a wagon version of the Civic, it has the foldaway Magic Seats of the Fit but is larger and sportier, although still much smaller than a Honda SUV or minivan.  Has all kinds of funky options, too.  They sell it in Europe, but the auto industry still insists that wagons and hatchbacks don't sell in the US.

You know what else allegedly doesn't sell?  Convertibles.  Which is why you also can't buy the S660 here.

The Bugatti ID90, from 1989.

They should really sell this thing now, as, say, a $70k little brother to the Veyron.  I think it actually looks better, to be honest.

That glass design on the Bugatti is beautiful, if nothing else. I mean really beautiful. There must be something impractical about it for it to have not caught on.

The Honda station wagon doesn't appear that small to me. It looks like a CRV without the vertical space.

The convertible won't sell if you don't sell it, that's for sure.

That wagon is literally a Civic with the roof raised at the rear and squared off.  It's apparently like 9" longer than the Civic hatchback, about the length of a regular Accord.  The googles say you can get it in gasoline (42/44 MPG) or diesel (68/74 MPG), hitting 60 MPH in under 10 seconds either way with a six-speed manual.  Sounds fun.

It's probably less practical than the CRV, but also probably more fun to drive, and that mileage is better.  And it's cheaper than the CRV.  In Europe and Japan they also have an Accord Tourer, but it just looks like a fat little wagon.  Meh.

I had to look it up. According to Top Gear, it's like one inch shorter than a CRV.

Rover 2000 TCZ, from 1967.

Make it a hatchback.  A nice cheap chunky little kammback 2+2 sports sedan.  The new econoboxes tend to look too squashed or too overstyled, to me.  This is just about right.  Saab Sonett-esque.

The notched rear of the cabin is a bit much, but maybe this is what that revived Thunderbird should have been.

I like it.  Put in side windows like the SVX.

God damn.

It's amazing how much automotive design leaped forward in the 1930s, only to mostly have those advances ignored for decades.  This thing looks like a steampunk billionaire's luxo-armored car.
