The first time I saw that, which was just a few days ago, I wondered at the beginning of the video if something was (bad) wrong with that cat, but by the end of the video, I thought it was just weird cat behavior.

 :hmm:
It's symbolic of our struggle against reality.

If you film enough different cats, you will eventually film a cat that happens to display behavior of whatever kind of possible cat behavior.  It's entirely possible that that cat had a broken jaw -- it's one of the most common injuries cats sustain because when they fall onto a hard surface (like a floor) from a serious height, their heads tend to smack down, and they usually recover from it without serious complications.  But it's not necessarily the case.

I'd also like to say that by the end of the 1800s, a photo taken with bright light often used a shutter speed of a small fraction of a second.  The vintage 'real photo' postcards of cats and kittens and other cute animals?  Those are mostly from 1900-1920, and the vast majority of those are definitely NOT stuffed animals.  That's an urban legend that's been debunked many times.  If it's an exotic animal and looks funny, then, yes, it's probably taxidermy.  But no one was killing and stuffing kittens to make cute postcards.  That would've been ridiculously difficult and expensive and unnecessary.

Buh . . . buh . . . guh . . . .

OK.  The Chinese 'American Idol' kid people are talking about.

The funny thing is that when Whitney sings it, I don't like it or even like that style of singing, but for some reason when a pudgy bowl-cut Chinese kid is singing it, it's hypnotic.  GO FIGURE.

Yeah, but watch that ostrich chase him down and remember that (A) that's a juvenile ostrich, and (B) 30k years ago there were BIGGER birds that were horrendous predators like you wouldn't believe.

Kittens running up a slide.

The additional Fox On Trampoline video in the column to the right is pretty good, too.

See, I will never have any qualms about eating birds. If it hasn't been for Chicxulub, it would totally be the other way round.

I liked the donkey that just sort of cruised on through the shot.

I thought that was a miniature horse or Shetland or something, but I admit I was watching the ostrich.

I know what you mean about eating the birds, hmof, and imagine the drumstick on 300 lb cursorial bird.  It would make Thanksgiving leftovers look like a six-piece McNugget pack.

The kid was riding a pony, but after the guy takes off after the ostrich - a lone donkey just kind of trots past ... and it looks like it realized it was on camera because it looks and then takes off.

Oh, see, I saw that, but I didn't look at it, and I thought it was the same critter the kid was riding.
