The Habitat For Humanity stores ("ReStores", ugh) around here used to have new and like-new appliances for $25-$50.  It was crazy.  I very, very nearly bought a new dishwasher for $30, in fact, but I had a feeling I'd still have it sitting in my garage a year later, and I didn't bother.  I did get my like-new double sink for $5.

The contractors and landlords finally clued in, though, and HFH raised their prices on a TON of stuff.  Even not really like-new appliances tend to be $100-$150 now, and their selection is pretty crappy.  Good for HFH, I suppose, but not for me.

Last night I had a bunch of weird dreams; in one of them I received a box in the mail, and it contained . . . dozens . . . of those doiiiiing spring doorstops.

Now I totally want to buy dozens of those.  Seems like you can buy them in bulk for around $1 each.  I don't actually have a project in mind, though, and I can't quite bring myself to spend the money.  It's really annoying me.

I can't quite seem to think of a good use for them.  :whatever:

I'll just leave that one unsung.

I want one of these SOOO badly.  Can't afford a big one, and I can easily imagine buying one of these and never being able to get it to work.  But, good lord, I am tempted.  Maybe after Xmas.

So, I would love to get one of these: http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Minecraft-21118-The-Mine/dp/B00MJYDDCW for Roger & the Eman for giftmas, but they are unavailable at what is supposed to be the retail price of $109. As you can see they are selling for upwards of $250 from assholes.

It looks absolutely awesome. Hopefully they will continue to produce them so that us slow pokes can get it.

Toys-R-Us is still claiming they have that Lego set at that price . . . but back-ordered.   That was the closest I could come to finding it at a sane price.
