SIL sent me her Amazon Wish List, for Xmas shopping purposes.

I open it, and . . . 2/3 of it are movies for instant watching on Amazon Prime.   I thought, uh, maybe this means I pay $3, and then she can watch it later for free?  But it also says "This item cannot be purchased as a gift at this time."

Then why the fuck is it on the gift list?  Get it together, Amazon.

Hotmail (ie, Microsoft trolls) keeps giving me what they call "shopping tips", and the one that they repeat most of the time is that before I buy anything I should consult my friends via Skype.

Is MS concerned that people aren't using Skype enough anymore?  Or are they just concerned that people are making their own purchasing decisions instead of following the herd?

My remaining 'working' computer at home is rapidly approaching the end of its life cycle.  It's eleven years old; I guess I shouldn't hope for much more.

So I broke down and ordered a refurbished T60 from 2006, which is like six times as powerful, I guess.  $185 at Newegg.  In theory, I shouldn't have spent the money right now, but . . . even without internet at home, I'd go out of my mind without a working computer.  And without a working car, I can't just come in to work casually to use the spare office here, either.

That's my rationalization, anyway.  :whatever:

Lately I keep seeing ads for "hands free headphones" [sic], which don't seem to be for phones, or anything, just MP3 players and whatnot.

Are those . . . are those not usually hands-free?   I assume they're probably stain-resistant, too -- why not put that in the ad copy as well?

you'd be surprised how much a nutsack can stretch. you have to stretch it yourself, not a woman. they don't do it quite right.

Because perverts keep putting torpedos down the the thermal exhaust port, just below the main port.

I keep seeing ads for bikes like this one:

That small rear wheel would make sense if there was a big package shelf back there, but there never is.  Is it just to make the bike a little shorter, front to back?  Or just a style popular overseas that they're offering here now without bothering to do any extra marketing?  I'm sure it works well enough, but it looks like a scooter or something.

I thought maybe it was physics-related, but apparently it's not.

And I thought it looked like a folding bike at first, but when I do a search, most of those have the same size tire front and back.

It's symbolic of our struggle against reality.

I have never seen one of those before. Pennyfarthingesque - maybe they're going for steampunkers in mufti.
