Heh. Okay, this is funny.

Watch the preview for "Children of Men" (yes, evil flash, yada yada) all the way through to the end, and you get the splash screen. While you're watching, mark the scene in the trailer where a car is driving across a bridge into the Battersea Power Station. Somebody's got a sense of humor.

I want to see this movie, incidentally. Even if they did pinch the idea from Frank Herbert's last (and oh my god bleakest) novel.

OH and serious, serious grue-bait in there.

Yeah, I cracked up on the Wontons joke too.

What I thought the bleeped out part said was "Does anyone in the room know what f@&king p#%@y tastes like?  Because I sure as f$*k don't"  or something to that effect.

We just watched probably the most amazing thing on TV this afternoon:  Star Trek:TOS.  I had been hearing about it for awhile, but hadn't seen it yet, they remastered all the shows and cleaned up the special effects.  Now, before you go all "HOW DARE THEY!" on me, they just took the original scenes and redid them, almost frame for frame, over in CG.  Except for a few things, they are identical passes and scenes.  At the end of the show, the Enterprise left orbit and did a beauty pass across the screen and off into space.  Absolutely-FUCKING-amazing!  Junk everything else they've done, there is nothing like seeing the original "Big E" looking as good as it did.

I saw "Balance of Terror" with the pumped-up graphics, but they effed up the soundtrack synchronization, which made it damn near unwatchable. But I thought it was a good start!
