One deaf, creaky, lazy as hell border collie.

She's still on the job though. Counts the kids each morning, and barks if they're not all present for breakfast. Also barks if  they're running late for school, and if they haven't fed her or changed her water. Otherwise doesn't bark at all.

Does Daylight savings time screw her up?

Not really. Right now it's pitch dark when we get up, but she's still taking roll. I think she sees the light come under the kitchen door and feels the water running through the pipes in the wall, so that's how she knows we're up (she has a house with a heated bed in the insulated garage, so she's not really left out, but in the cooler months we close the back door to keep the garage from getting too cold, so she has to let us know when she wants out).

I'm more worried about having enough time for the three dogs and making sure they get their walks and such. Plus I see people giving pets away all the time because their kid ends up allergic to the pets.

I understand the whole food chain thing but watching an animal eat another animal grosses me out. My friend had a soft shell water turtle and he would get a goldfish once a week or so. The turtle just pecked at the goldfish for days. That poor thing would be swimming around with chunks of himself missing but not enough to kill him. That's horrible.

I heart animals.

They're tasty.

I saw this shirt for sale that said:

Of course I love Cats. I just can't eat a whole one by myself.

I thought that might be funny for me to wear.

Greyson - ~18y silver tabby shorthair male cat. The old man of the mountain. Full name: Greyson Frostworthy the First And Only. Small now, due to CRF and lost muscle, but the others will only play with him, never mess with him. I don't know why. But then, I don't mess with him, either.

Kuro - ~16y black shorthair male cat. Grey in his whiskers. This is the one that at puberty decided I was the incarnation of evil stealing his beloved mistress away.  :eyeroll: He's fidgety and skittish but his purr can be a roar when he's happy. For him, petting is a two way process.

Pupuli - 3y brown tabby medium hair female. She outmasses each of the gentlemen, and is desperately trying to achieve Kuro's second place in the hierarchy. A bit neurotic, and loves to rub my beard. This is the one that got scared by a phone call at 2 AM (which we were expecting) and landed on my face, foreclaw in my eyelid. She'd like to go outside because it's not inside, and because the idea of chasing birds off the lawn intrigues her. That the crows are bigger than her doesn't seem to enter into her thoughts at all.
I'm generalizing from one example here, but everyone generalizes from one example. At least, I do.

That's very considerate.  I take it you don't have a working bathroom, then?

Yeah. What's your point?

Nothing.  I'm pretty pointless.
