well, had to put the old girl down today. she seized up pretty bad last night for about an hour. it probably led to a massive stroke. she finally calmed down around 2am and i went to bed. got up this morning and found her in the back yard laying in rocks twitching.

at least she was pretty happy until the seizure last night. i really didn't expect it like that. at least i was home. rip tuffy.
you'd be surprised how much a nutsack can stretch. you have to stretch it yourself, not a woman. they don't do it quite right.

That's a rough loss, PD; I'm really sorry to hear it. It sounds like she lived a good life with you.

thanks

yeah, she was my mom's husband's dog actually. i think she was 13 or 14 when mom died so she had to be 16 or 17.

crickett is still doing great. not sure she's really aware of what happened. they weren't cuddle buddies or anything like that.

 to pdrake

I know it's been awhile since it happened, but I cried when I read that your cat had died, mo.

Have either of you thought about bringing new companion animals home?

Thanks, A

Getting another cat would require a long term commitment, and I don't think I'm capable. The last cat wandered into my life, so no decision was required. I still do miss him all the time, but I've noticed I'm breathing a little easier these days - my sinuses are better. I think I was mildly allergic to all the hair, and he wasn't even a long hair.

I was walking in the park a while back and heard a kitten crying and I eventually found it inside a culvert that was only like a foot wide. No way to get it out unless it was to come out on its own. I was tempted to rescue it, because it was super tiny and really cute, but I thought better of it. I checked on it again the next day, and it was gone, so its mom must have come back for it. So, anyway, it could happen. I'm weak, but I'm not actively seeking a new cat.

Yeah, I heard that.  That's basically my way of getting both cats and girlfriends, for better or worse.

This dog has the worst gas I've ever smelled. And I've smelled some bad gas. I don't know what the hell she ate that made THAT smell come out of her butt, but holy hell it's awful.

What is it with dogs and gas? I've yet to meet a cat that can create those kinds of smells.  :fart:

My cat does weird, horrible, gaseous things after eat anti-hairball treats.  They're not really worse than actual hairballs, though.
