We're getting a slow and steady rain. Haven't looked at the news to see how burn areas are doing yet. Kinda afraid to do that, actually.

Rain rate is still tiny up here. We seem to be in a gap between the big pulses. Thank goodness. All the Carpinteria and Montecito schools closed. They are really worried about slides.

We've had a few deluges.

It's currently dank and much warmer, here, like 45 - 50 F, but it's going back down into the teens like a televangelist this weekend.

And here I thought it was just ... Nope. Can't do it. Too damned reprehensible.

See, that there's why you're not a televangelist.

Almost 60 F here yesterday.  Today, 20 F, freezing rain, 4-6" of snow.

I mean, I get it.  It's just very messy.

We hit 70 yesterday.  Today it's overcast and foggy but 59 right now.

Local weatherman says, "If you want to experience a really neat meteorological event, go sit outside, and in about 20 minutes the arctic front will arrive and the temperature will drop from the 40's down to about 20 degrees".

Cool. Literally.

I would guess that's like watching the leading/trailing edge of a rainstorm.

Yeah, it's interesting when it happens in the spring or summer, but not worthy of sitting in freezing weather waiting for it. Especially since it didn't happen as he expected last night - the temperature dropped over several hours.

It's symbolic of our struggle against reality.

Have I mentioned that this winter has been brutal on furnaces, for some reason?  Because it has.  I've worked on three different furnaces so far, myself, and I'm about to start in on a new problem.

It's farkin' crazy.
