If anybody's up late:

Negativland did a rare show in Dallas this past weekend, and kickass local DJ Cyberina is playing the whole thing in its entirety on KNON until about 2:20am Central. (eta: last segment playing now. I recorded what I could, because this is amazing.)

It was scripted to play out live like a radio show, some sorta experimental deal. Anyway, lettin' ya know!

I'll upload that Negativland show sometime today if anyone is interested. Good stuff. Amazing to hear something like that on the airwaves in 2008 in Dallas.

(eta: here it is. It's from a lo-fi stream, but it's the last hour or so.)

Paul Davis died. I did a Paul Davis Memorial Haiku at that other site. Feel free to add your own.

If it don't feel right

So Paul Davis did.

It's been an unintentional Swedish day for me musically.

While I was out and about and just hanging with friends today, we were listening to Dungen.  I particularly like their video for Stadsvandringar because that captures the vibe we had on this lovely spring day - except we weren't skateboarding, and everyone kept their shirts on.

Tonight I've been playing the Swedish duo, Koop w/ Yukimi Nagano on vocals.  My favorite song of theirs is Come To Me, but just prior to posting I watched their video Koop Island Blues for the first time.

Holy crap!  That video is steamy.  I don't think I can listen to Yukimi Nagano the same way ever again.

:knotty:

Me either, and I don't think I ever heard her before.  That was reflectoraunchtastic.  Catchy, too.

I'd rather do a Negativland haiku.

And for the life of me, I've never heard of Paul Davis.

Sometimes I think I'm in an alternate universe alternate days.

Yeah, I figured I knew who he was and was just blanking, but actually I've never heard any of those before.  I must've heard something by him, though.  My mother listened to AM Gold and had all the K-TEL smoove LPs like Horizons and Songbird and all that.

The Related Videos for those are full of stuff I remember, but just not the Paul Davis stuff.  Weird.

Now I have to go listen to America, and I was supposed to be packing boxes for moving.

Hahaha, Postie. I totally forgot about that one.  I thought I Go Crazy was his only hit I knew.

Wow.  Stop the yacht, I'm getting off.
